The Lone Star Shootout
The response to priority invitations emailed to prior Shootout participants on Friday March the 22nd has been exceptional with 13 paid entries as of today! Priority invitees have until May 1st to register for the Shootout and be eligible for a drawing for a FULL ENTRY REFUND!
Regular invitations will mail the week of April 15th. Special thanks to the owners of Impulse, Happy Hour, Nereus, Bimini Babe, Catchin' Up, Patron, Contigo, Tres Ninos, Legacy, Crazy J, Contingent Sea, Donaken and Paparda Rey for setting the stage.

Grand Slam on Allure
Congratulations to Hill Dishman, Owner of Allure, Captain Kiwi and angler Dan Allen Hughes on their recent Grand Slam! Dan released two striped marlin, one blue marlin and 5 sailfish on March 23rd. This makes Captain Kiwi's second Grand Slam in Guatemala on Allure!

Texas Division - In the Texas Division, Lisa King caught an incredible 97 pound Wahoo while fishing with Jack Beal on $ea Dollar$. Jack Beal is in a very close second place with a 96 pound Wahoo and Debbie Conway is in third place with a 70 pounder.
International Division- In the International Division, Will Lett's Boo-Lo is now in first place with 5,300 points and J.W and Pat Bones' Mojo is in a close second place with 5,200 points. Buddy Schultz is in first place in the Top Male Angler division with 5,100 points and Alan Latham is in second place with 1,100 points. Mandy Trahan is still leading the Top Female Angler category with 1,300 points!

Captain's Corner
Seas are calm and fishing's slow. After a couple hours someone
reaches in the lure bag and says "put this one out". Upon examination the hooks are rusty and the leader is yellow. If you add it to the spread, don't ask why you jumped off another fish. Your tackle isn't right. Make sure your hooks are sharp enough not to drag across your thumbnail. Add new chaffing gear and good crimps. You really don't want to leave anything rigged unless it's ready to go in the water. Sweat out the little details at the dock, not sitting on a bucket in four to sixes.
