Make The Most
    
"Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone." Matthew 25:14 (NLT)
 
In this story that Jesus tells, a rich ruler calls his servants to him before he sets out on a trip. To the first servant he gives five bags of money, to the second he gives two bags, and the last servant received only one bag of money. The master gave them each a certain amount of money that he felt they could handle, and use in a responsible way. Upon distributing the money he set out on his trip, and eventually, over a period of time, the master returned and called his servants forth, so that they may give an account of what they had done with the money he had entrusted them with. The master is greatly pleased to find his first two servants had doubled the money they had been given. But, to the master's disappointment, the servant he had entrusted only one bag of money to, had done nothing with it. The master had expected each of his servants to gain a return with that which they had been entrusted with; each servant was expected to gain a return in proportion to the amount of money the master had entrusted them with.
 
Jesus tells this story to illustrate how He expects His followers to do business in His place till He returns. For this reason He has delegated to each of us a designated amount of resources, skills, time, and finances. We are each expected to bring a return in proportion to that which Jesus, our Master, has entrusted to us. We are to make the most of all that Jesus has blessed us with, knowing, He has given us such great blessings so that we may conduct business in His name upon planet earth, as we eagerly await His return. We have been given the responsibility, and the means, to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth, to destroy all the works of the devil, to shine light into the darkness, and to bring hope to the hopeless. Let us be good and faithful servant, taking care of our Masters business, making the most of our time, resources, and skills for the furtherance of our Lord's Kingdom!
