A Change Of Heart
    
"It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise." Hebrews 11:11 (NLT)
 
We're told that it was by faith that Sarah was able to have a child, because she believed that God was not only able, but also willing, to keep the promise He had made to her and Abraham. But, when we read through the Book of Genesis we find that Sarah didn't always have a heart of faith. In fact, we are told that she laughed at God in her heart when he told her she would have a child in her old age. The Bible says, "Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children. So she laughed silently to herself and said, 'How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master-my husband-is also so old'" (Genesis 18:11-12, NLT)? Sarah laughed at the promise of God; that doesn't seem like the kind of faith that produces fruit. Somewhere along the way Sarah had a change of heart. Her heart went from one of doubt and skepticism, to one of faith, which receives the promises of God.
 
Perhaps your heart is like Sarah's heart once was; one that laughs at the promises of God, for it is full of disappointment and hurt. Or, perhaps your heart is trying to reason out how God will keep His promises. If this is you, it's not too late, your heart can change! Your heart can be healed by God Himself, and filled with the faith it needs to receive God's promises! If your heart is hardened make a choice to allow God to soften it. Turn your eyes towards Heaven and praise the God who loves you, and He will replace your heart of doubt with one that overflows with faith!
