Do Your Best
     
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going." Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NKJ)
 
Do your best and let God worry about the rest! We are to do the best we can at everything we do, without worrying about the outcome. Too often God's children are so concerned about the outcome of what they are doing that they fail to do the best job they are capable of. Paul tells the church in Corinth, "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase." Both Paul and Apollos had labored for the Lord in Corinth, but it was God who determined the outcome. God made their labors successful; they simply did the best they could under the power of the Holy Spirit.
 
The best we can do, in any situation, is to simply do our best! We cannot determine the success of anything, we must simply do the absolute best we can at whatever we put our hand to, and entrust the rest to God! When Jesus walked the earth He posed this question to His followers, "Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?" And then He tells them "So don't worry about tomorrow." The message is clear; don't waste time worrying about wins and losses, success and failure, or what the outcome of your labors might be. Entrust the outcome to the Lord and simply do the very best you can at everything you do! To do this we will certainly need to take the attitude that says, "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men." Trust God to bring you success, and to bring you through times of failure! Do the best you can at everything you put your hand to, by the power of the Holy Spirit which lives inside you, not worrying about the outcome, and God will take care of the rest!
