An Act Of Faith
     
"And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth." Genesis 6:13 (NKJ)
 
As God was getting ready to destroy the earth He promised to save Noah and his family. He then gives Noah the task of building an ark; a task that no man had ever taken on before. God could have easily just shielded Noah, his family, and the animals from the rain, but instead He has Noah build an ark to do it. Noah had a promise from God, but to receive that promise it's was going to take a great act of faith in building an ark! This act of faith was no simple task, and surely Noah faced great ridicule for doing it, but he did anyways! Noah acted in faith and received God's promise!
 
Everything we receive from the Lord is by faith! And, faith without works is dead! So, to receive the promises of God it will always take an act of faith. The bigger the promise the bigger the act of faith! We must believe God's word whole-heartedly if we are ever going to act on it. When we act in faith we are acting on a promise that has nothing to support it besides God's word! And, unfortunately, that is why so many of God's children miss out on His promises. If you want to receive from God you will have to act in faith! You will have to step out trusting in God's word! That's exactly what Noah did, and he received the promise God had given him! Step out in faith, and remember, great promises are received through great acts of faith!
 
"By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith." Hebrews 11:7 (NKJ)
