Sorrow
     
"And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose." Romans 8:28 (AMP)
 
As I reflect on this passage from the Book of Romans, which the Apostle Paul wrote, a man who knew something about sorrow and suffering, I remember the words of another man of God named Barnabas Mam. In his book entitled Church Behind The Wire, Mam writes, "God does not waste sorrow. He uses trouble for His glory." Sorrow, it is a condition that no child of God is exempt from; sooner or later we all experience its bite. Yet, even from the pain and anguish sorrow brings God is able to take the ashes of our life and create something glorious for His Kingdom.
 
God doesn't waste our sorrows, for they usually come at such a high price. Perhaps today your heart is filled with such a deep sorrow you find it hard to see anything else; even God has begun to fade from your eyes sight. If this is you, know your God is faithful, and indeed, merciful! He will not leave you to waste away in your grief, but instead will take your sorrows and turn them into something magnificent for His glory! God doesn't cause evil things to happen to His children, that's the devil's job, but He can definitely take what the enemy has meant for evil and turn it around for something good. In your times of sorrow look to the Lord, allowing Him, and expecting Him, to take the ashes of your life and turn them into something beautiful for the glory of His Kingdom!
