Delegated Power
     
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 (NIV)
 
As we have been delegated heavenly authority, so we have also been delegated heavenly power! We have been given the power of the Holy Spirit to enforce our authority, or rather our King's authority, upon earth! Much like a police officer's badge, which speaks to the authority they have been given, so the seal of the Holy Spirit testifies to the authority Christ has delegated to His followers. And, as a police officer possess a host of weaponry to enforce their legal given authority, so we have been given power from the Holy Spirit to enforce the will of our King and, to establish the realities of our Homeland, on the world around us.
 
We have been given the power of the Holy Spirit, but just as with the authority we've been given, learning to use that power take practice and training. If you were handed a gun and bullets, but didn't know how to load the gun, or correctly aim it and fire it at the target, the weapon would do you little good. So it is with the power of the Holy Spirit, we will need practice with this power, and help learning to use it from someone with practical experience; that means someone who has actually loaded the gun and fired at the enemy. The devil lacks authority, but he still has power. We on the other hand have both authority and power, and the more we exercise them, the more adept we will be at using them to advance the Kingdom of our Lord!
