Power Of The Testimony
     
"And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death." Revelation 12:11 (AMP)
 
The word of our testimony is a powerful weapon when it comes to doing battle with the enemy! The word here used for testimony in the Greek is "marturia" which carries the meaning to give a report or to produce evidence of some subject matter. Most interesting is the fact that "marturia" is derived from the Greek word "martus" which Jesus used when He told His followers that they would be a witness unto Him throughout all the earth. "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" (Acts 1:8, NKJ). So, we find that when we are a witness to others of all Jesus has done for us; it serves as a weapon to buffet the lying-destructive works of the enemy!
 
We have the power to change the tide on the devil when he attacks us, regardless of what area of our life it may be, by speaking out the testimonies the Lord has given us! When we give witness to others of the Lord's testimonies, we are in essence, beating the devil in the head with a large sledge hammer! We must make a habit of speaking out loud to others the many testimonies we have recorded in our hearts and minds of the wonderful and miraculous things our Father in Heaven has done for us through, and because, of Jesus Christ our Lord! Never forget, "Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit-you choose" (Proverbs 18:21, MSG). If you want to put to ruin the plans and attacks of the enemy speak out loud the testimonies of the Lord, share with all who will give you ear how God has blessed you and prospered you, talk of the great mercy and the saving grace you have received through Jesus Christ! Speak words that give life!
