Working Hard
     
"I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase."
1 Corinthians 3:6 (NKJ)
 
The Apostle Paul was steadfast determined to finish the Mission Jesus had entrusted him with, and he put everything he had into this work. Paul was ever so aware that it was the grace of God that enabled him to labor as he did, for he also told the church in Corinth, "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them-yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me" (1 Corinthians 15:10, NIV). Paul learned to rely on the grace of God, but this grace did not make him a lazy man, but an industrious one!
 
As God's children we must always look to Him to give us the victory, and at the same time, relying on His strength to enable us to labor to the fullest of our potential in everything we put our hands to. God's Word tells us, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might" (Ecclesiastes 9:10, NASB). Do the best you can at whatever it is you do, knowing as a child of God you represent the Lord in everything you do, so let the world see you doing everything to the very best of your ability! Work hard, relying on the grace of God to give you the strength and might to do so! And then, when you've done the best you can, simply trust God to give you the increase!
