Twisted Scriptures
     
"Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, 'If you are the Son of God, jump off!' For the Scriptures say, 'He will order his angels to protect and guard you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.'" Luke 4:9-11 (NLT)
 
The devil is a master of taking the Scripture and putting an ever so slight of twist upon them to manipulate their righteous intent for his evil purpose! The devil is so confident in his knowledge of Scriptures and ability to twist them that he attempted to do so even on Jesus! Satan took the Scripture and quoted it correctly, but used it out of context, and in a manner that directly contended with other Scriptures. Unfortunate for satan, Jesus was the living Word and understood the written Scripture perfectly, and was able to rightly divide the Word of truth! A.W. Tozer once said, "The devil is a better theologian than any of us and is a devil still."
 
Jesus was able to overcome the enemy by correctly dividing the truth of the Scriptures from the lying manipulative twist the enemy had placed on them! If the Church of Jesus Christ is going to be successful at destroying the lies of the enemy, confronting the manipulating twist, which he loves to put on the Scriptures, it is going to have to learn to stand firm on the Word of God, refusing to compromise, and dividing the truth of God's Eternal Word from the manipulations of the enemy!
