Father Of Lies
     
"You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44 (NASB)
 
A lie is a destructive force that attacks the righteousness of truth, with the desire to destroy faith, and in doing so create a platform of fear from which the enemy can establish a work of destruction in our lives! Through the use of lies, satan and his demonic horde, have been able to take the truth of God's Word and manipulate it for their own destructive purposes! They twist scripture and use half-truths to deceive God's children into buying into their lies, giving them power over the lives of Believers. Johnathon Edwards said, "The devil can counterfeit all the saving operations and graces of the Spirit of God."
 
As the children of God we must learn to measure everything off of God's Word; understanding the New Covenant we live under by faith through Jesus Christ! The unabated truth of God's eternal Word is the only thing that can crush the lies of the enemy, halting the destructive work he so longs to bring to the life of the child of God! God's Word not only destroys the lies of the enemy, but it creates an atmosphere of faith in which the blessings and promises of God can be freely, and fully, received by the Believer! To combat the enemy, we must recognize the enemy! We must be able to distinguish between God's footprint and the devil's footprint!
