"Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding." Acts 19:6 (NIV)
 
The devil's power is real, and is used to hinder the advancement of our Lord's Kingdom, to destroy those called to labor for the Kingdom, and to deceive mankind and claim their souls for eternal destruction. As children of God, representing His interest here on planet earth, we must understand the enemy's power is real, and he is able to attack us with said power whenever he feels so inclined to do so. The enemy may wait for what he considers an opportune time, or he may attack us when he feels threatened by our efforts to expand the Kingdom, or he may even attack us just to support his evil nature. The demonic forces of satan are indeed our enemy, and it is their job to create chaos, and cause destruction in our lives, and they are ever so eager and happy to do so!
 
Watchman Nee once said, "Put very simply, Satan's power in the world is everywhere. Yet wherever men and women walk in the Spirit, sensitive to the anointing they have from God, that power of his just evaporates. There is a line drawn by God, a boundary where by virtue of his own very presence Satan's writ does not run. Let God but occupy all the space himself, and what room is left for the evil one?"  The enemy may have real power, but so does God, and His is greater in every way! God has delegated His power to us, so that we would be able to stand against all the attacks and power of the enemy! "In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil" (Ephesians 6:10-11, AMP).
