To condemn someone is to pass a judgement against them that brings a punishment of recompense for the crime committed. The Bible is clear, for those who are in Christ Jesus, there can be no condemnation. That means no judgment can be passed against them; they can be convicted of no crime! Far too many of God's children still look to Him in fear and dread, believing their Heavenly Father is out to get them every time they fall short of the mark. This couldn't be further from the truth! But, it is a favorite stumbling stone the enemy loves to place in front of God's children to trip them up.
 
John F. Walvoord said, "The work of redemption was accomplished by Christ in His death on the cross and has in view the payment of the price demanded by a holy God for the deliverance of the believer from the bondage and burden of sin. In redemption the sinner is set free from his condemnation and slavery to sin." Jesus took our punishment and gave us His righteousness, which is why we are FREELY justified by GRACE when we believe on Christ, apart from anything we could ever do! The fear of condemnation keeps the children of God running from their Father when they commit a sin, instead of running to Him, and thus, because they stay away from Him, they continue to struggle with the same sins. God is not looking to punish His children, but to deliver them! You are free in Christ! You are loved in Christ!
