Fear
     
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18 (NIV)
 
"Fear Not" appears more times than any other phrase in the Bible. It seems obvious that God is trying to get something across to us! God is perfect love and operates in that love. On the other side of the coin we find fear and satan. As God uses love to minister to His children, the enemy uses fear to control and hold captive the child of God. Fear is very much like a ball and chain that holds the child of God back from the glorious destiny that their Heavenly Father has prepared for them. When God's perfect love is allowed to infiltrate every part of our being, fear can no longer hold us back!
 
A.B. Simpson said, "Fear is born of Satan, and if we would only take time to think a moment we would see that everything Satan says is founded upon a falsehood." Fear doubts God's unconditional love, it doubts God's Word, it doubts God's ability and/or willingness to keep His promises; fear poisons the soul of the child of God! When we fully understand our position with God, through Jesus Christ, love fills our being and at the same time vanquishes all fear! When the love of our Heavenly Father overcomes us we don't doubt His Word, His promises, or His unfailing unconditional love! Love creates faith as fear creates doubt! Faith makes everything possible as doubt robs us of every possibility! Fear not! For you are loved!!
