Ambassadors
     
"Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJ)
 
An ambassador is an official representative of a foreign country, living in another country, representing their homeland's interest in that nation, and doing so with all the authority and resources of their home country at their disposal. The followers of Christ are ambassadors for Christ, representing Him and His interest to see all mankind saved here on planet earth. As ambassadors for Christ, we exercise the authority and power of Christ as we work to complete His Mission. We have all the resources of our home country, Heaven, to represent our King in this foreign world that we currently live in and work in.
 
Duncan Campbell once said, "We must take ourselves in hand, and school ourselves, especially our wills, into a greater fitness for the serious business of living as Christian workers, of being ambassadors of Jesus Christ." We cannot take lightly the responsibility our Lord has commissioned us with! The urgency or our Mission as ambassadors for Christ cannot be overstated! Too many of the followers of Christ have labeled the Great Commission as an extracurricular activity; something to do in their spare time. But Jesus never meant for it to be that way! His followers were to make the work of evangelizing the world and making disciples of all mankind their main priority! The Mission of our King should never be made a spare activity in our lives, which we engage in if there is left over time in our busy schedules, it must, with all urgency, be placed as a priority in our lives and schedules!
