Delight In The Lord
     
"Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4 (NKJ)
 
To delight in the Lord is to find your source of joy and happiness in Him; it is to draw near to your heavenly Father in an intimate relationship. We have a good and loving Father who enjoys blessing His children with the things they desire. We often find our prayers go unanswered simply because we fail to draw near to our heavenly Father. It is not that He doesn't want to answer our prayers; it is simply that we will not come close enough to Him to receive that which He desires to give us.
 
God stands ready to bless His children, to answer their prayers, giving them the desires of their heart. But, too many of His children refuse to delight themselves in an intimate relationship with Him. They keep their distance and never draw close enough to reach out and take the prayer which their Father has already answered, and now merely waits for them to receive; the problem doesn't lie with the Father, but rather with the child. Draw near to your Father in Heaven! Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will, without fail, give you the desires of your heart; for He desires to do such!
 
"Then you will delight yourself in the Lord, and I will make you ride over the heights of the land, and let you enjoy the heritage of your father Jacob. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken."
