Faith, Love, & Hope
     
"We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 1:3 (NIV)
 
Faith is something that originates with God. The Bible says we have all been given a "measure of faith". It was given to us, which means it did not originate from us, but now that it has been given to us it is ours to use. And, just as that first measure was given to us by the Lord, He can add to that, but it is up to us to actually use the faith we've been given. Faith is present tense; it is here and now! It was through faith that God created the Universe. And, it is faith that enables us to do great exploits for our God! True faith always produces works for the glory of God!
 
The Bible teaches us that God Himself is love. Love is what moved God to give His only begotten Son. And, it is love that moves us to labor for the lost of this world. Nothing other than the love of God that pulsates through the heart of the born again believer can move than to labor diligently to see the unreached of this world touched by the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
 
Hope is future tense. It is something we look forward to, having yet to receive. Our hope is in Jesus Christ! We look forward to His glorious return to take His bride; the Church! It is this hope that allows us to endure the hard times; to suffer and still push forward; to face loss and disappointment and not give up. In Christ we have a hope that inspires us to never quit! A hope that tells us God will always come through for us! A hope that says no matter how dark the night may be, the SON will rise on us, bringing a better tomorrow!
