"It's not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth." Matthew 15:11 (NLT)
 
The religious leaders of Jesus' day couldn't grasp the importance of the words they spoke. They fully embraced their man made traditions, and put a strong emphasis on the keeping of those traditions to make them right with God. Unfortunately though, they ignored the power of their words to defile them. They worried so much about what they consumed and how they consumed it that they never gave thought to what was coming out of them.
 
Our words can set the tone for our lives! If we speak words of life and prosperity, our lives will follow suite. On the other hand, if we speak words of doubt and destruction, our lives will follow that course as well. What you say matters! Your words can bring us to a place of blessing, or a place of desolation; we each get to choose! Mother Teresa once said, "Words which do not give the light of Christ increase the darkness." Refuse to increase the darkness in your life, or the life of anyone else! Guard the words that come out of your mouth! Speak words of life into yourself and others!
