Defined And Proclaimed
     
"Jesus answered and said to them, 'Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.'" Luke 7:22 (NKJ)
 
John the Baptist sent his followers to ask Jesus if He was truly the Messiah. Jesus tells John's followers to go back and report to John all the wonderful things they had seen Him do. It would be the works of Jesus that would proclaim who He truly was.
 
Today we have been made right with God through the blood of Jesus Christ! It is the finished work of Christ which has justified us before God. The blood of Jesus defines who we are before God, and nothing else! But, here on planet earth it is our works that proclaim who we are before men! Just as the works of Jesus testified to who He was, our works should speak of who we are. Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Our works could never make us right with God, or merit, in anyway, His mercy and goodness. We receive these only by faith, through Jesus Christ! Yet, when it comes to mankind we must allow our good works to testify to who God is and His love for them! We must do the work of our Lord, with a good heart, so that mankind will know we are God's children. And, by our good works God will be glorified, and men and women from all over will experience our Father's mercy and goodness through the works of His children on earth! Trust in the blood of Christ to define you before God, and make sure your works proclaim you before man!
