"Then Elisha prayed, "O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!" The Lord opened the young man's eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire." 2 Kings 6:17 (NLT)
 
The king of Aram finds out that the Prophet Elisha has been telling the king of Israel his plans, and so he sends a great army to capture the prophet. When the prophet's servant sees this great army he is terrified, he knows for certain they are doomed. But, the prophet assures him this is not the case, for there is a greater army with them. Elisha prays for God to open the eyes of his servant, and once he does the servant sees an army of angels in chariots of fire. The servant was unaware of of the angel army that was with Elisha; if he had known, there is no doubt that his initial response would have been very different.
 
Too often God's children go through life unaware of His presence; they carry an intellectual understanding that Jesus is with them, but they have no sense of His tangible presence to bring them through life victorious. We must embrace the absolute truth of the fact that Jesus is with us, through good times and bad times, He is there to bring us the victory! He never leaves us, regardless of how "good" or how "bad" we feel we have been. God's faithfulness depends on Him, and not us! Become aware of God's presence and it will change how you go through life; there will be no mountain you cannot climb, no challenge will be too great, no devil too strong, for with God nothing is impossible! Be alert to the presence of God that is always with you, and you will always live in victory!
