Watchman
     
"Meanwhile, the Lord said to me, 'Put a watchman on the city wall. Let him shout out what he sees.'" Isaiah 21:6 (NLT)
 
The watchman was a position in which someone was assigned to keep a look out over a city for invading enemies. They would keep watch and when they saw a threat approaching the city they would call out, sounding an alarm so that the city would not be taken off guard. If no watchman was posted the city would have no warning, and hence no chance to take up arms against the invaders.
 
Very similarly, God's children have been called to be watchmen over the cities and towns around them. We have been called to sound the alarm, letting others know the evil intentions of the devil, and to show them the sure deliverance they can find with Jesus! Jesus has entrusted His Church, made up of ALL believers, to announce to the world the salvation that can be found only in Him!   There is no time to loose! It is estimated that 151,500 people die each day, that's over 55 million people each year; most of them will face eternity without Jesus. But we can do something about that! We can boldly tell them about Jesus and all He has done for mankind! We can tell them of the grace we receive when we call on His name! We can tell them of a Savior who took the punishment for their sin, so they would not have to! Be bold as a watchman for the Lord! Tell everyone around you about the amazing-saving grace He offers!
 
"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?"
