Be Different
     
"The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does..." Isaiah 8:11 (NLT)
 
The Lord tells the Prophet Isaiah that he is not to think like everyone else, God expected Isaiah to be different. Isaiah was a servant of the Lord and as such he was called to live differently than the people around him. We too are servants of the Lord, children of God, called to live lives that distinguish us from those of the world. We are called to be the light of the world, allowing Jesus to shine through us! But, if we think like the lost of this world we will surely act like them, and if we are acting like the world we have no chance of bring the light of Christ to it! Andrew Murray once said, "Just as a servant knows that he must first obey his master in all things, so the surrender to an implicit and unquestionable obedience must become the essential characteristic of our lives." Choose to obey God's Word! Live according to His precepts, and not those of the world! This world only walk by sight, it only thinks according to the natural world. Choose to be different! Walk by faith, trusting in God's unfailing Word, regardless of what your eyes behold! Live a life that pleases God, because you are a child of God! Be different than the world you live in!
