Troubles
 
"And we sent Timothy to visit you. He is our brother and God's co-worker in proclaiming the Good News of Christ. We sent him to strengthen you, to encourage you in your faith, and to keep you from being shaken by the troubles you were going through. But you know that we are destined for such troubles." 1 Thessalonians 3:2-3 (NLT)
 
Paul tells the church in Thessalonica they are destined for trouble...doesn't make a very appealing call to those who have yet to receive Christ does it? Still, it is true; all who turn to Jesus Christ forsaking the ways of this world can expect trouble. When we surrender our lives to Jesus it's like putting a target on our back, and we can be sure the enemy is aiming at us. But not to fear, even though trouble is coming, the One who overcame the "trouble maker" lives inside us! Yes, "greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world"!!! The devil is the one who comes to make trouble for us, but he has been overcome by our Lord, and we have been given authority over him!
 
Trouble will indeed come for all you have surrendered their lives to Christ, but we need not fear the enemy, indeed, he should fear us! If we understand who we are in Christ and the position of authority we hold, we will overcome every attack the devil throws our way, and we will surely put him to flight! Realize the authority and power you have been given; embrace it! So, when troubles come (and they will) you will be more than able to overcome them all!!
