"In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross." Colossians 2:15 (NLT)
 
The guilt that comes from sin is a powerful weapon, one the enemy has wielded in a devastating fashion against all of mankind. For the enemy to lose this power over mankind the quilt of sin had to be removed. And that's exactly what happened when Jesus died on the cross! When Jesus was nailed to the cross our guilt went with Him! Now, for everyone who has surrendered their lives to Jesus, sharing in His death and resurrection by faith, their guilt is completely removed. The enemy has been disarmed! He has no weapon to use against us, for the penalty that was demanded for our sins has been paid for in full! We are free from the authority of the enemy! And, not only are we free from the devil's authority, but now he is under the authority of Jesus whom we represent! That means he has no choice but to yield to us! Know today that the enemy has no power over you! Also understand that you carry the power and authority of Christ upon this earth! You don't need to fear the enemy, the enemy needs to fear you! Recognize the authority you have been given in Christ, and the position the enemy is now in, being disarmed by Christ! Go forth today boldly in the power and authority of Christ destroying all the works of the devil, with full assurance that he has been disarmed and has absolutely no power or authority over you!
