God's Desires
 
"For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:13 (NLT)
 
When we receive the message of the Gospel and become citizens of Heaven, the Bible tells us that God gives us a new heart. And, with that new heart comes new desires. No longer are we driven by self-interest alone, now the Spirit of God drives us to fulfill the longings of our new heart, which is filled with the desires and longings of God. God gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill His longings, which He placed in us when He gave us a new heart. So what pleases God? What does He desire and long for? What pleases God is to have His children seek Him out, for them to spend time with Him. God is pleased when we shine like a light in this dark world bringing glory to Jesus Christ. He longs to see the lost souls of mankind redeemed to Himself. God has not only given us the desire for these things, but He has also given us the power to make sure they are accomplished. Embrace the desires of your new heart, and live those desires out by the power of the Holy Spirit that lives inside of you! Don't allow fear to hold you back from pleasing your Father in Heaven! Allow the Spirit to work in you, moving you to do things you would have never thought possible, so that one day your Lord can say to you "well done" as He welcomes you home!
 
"And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations." Ezekiel 36:26-27 (NLT)
