Righteous Character
 
"May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation-the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ-for this will bring much glory and praise to God." Philippians 1:11 (NLT)
 
Righteous Character is produced when the Spirit of God joins with ours; it is an unseen quality inside the child of God that moves them to live in a way that honors their Lord and yields fruit for His Kingdom. Righteous Character enables us to live in a way where our conduct shines with the light of Christ no matter where we are, or what circumstances we may be facing. Martin Luther King Jr., the great civil rights leader, once said, "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." We all have times of comfort and times controversy, these times come and go, but Righteous Character does not, it remains firm. Our character, or lack of it, will define who we become in times of trial. Does our Christian witness stand firm when everything is falling apart? Or, does that witness change with the tides of life? For those possessing Righteous Character, their witness does not change; their actions are not determined by their circumstance, but by the Word of God and the Spirit that lives within them. Hold tight to the character God has produced in you, refuse to compromise it, so that you may be a city on a hill, shining the light of God in a dark world for all to see!
