Devilish Strategies
 
"Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil." Ephesians 6:11 (NLT)
 
The enemy of our soul is cunning and devious; he strategically works to destroy us and keep us from fulfilling the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ to His Church. The enemy is often strategic in his attacks, much like a chess player. He will strategically place his pieces, which are his demonic workers, and when he feels the time is the most opportune to release his destructive works, he strikes! That why the Bible says, "Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." Now, we need not fear the enemy, but we should indeed stay alert! We must pay attention to how the enemy is planning his attack, for he is always doing such! And, if he can catch us napping, or finds our attention misplaced, he is sure to capitalize on the opportunity and strike!
 
Thomas Adams, an English preacher from the 17th century, said, "The devil is no idle spirit, but a vagrant, runagate walker, that never rests in one place. The motive, cause, and main intention of his walking is to ruin man." Know the enemy is always working to destroy you, and the more you respond to God's call on your life the more he's going to attack you. Be alert, but don't be afraid! Remember, Jesus has won the victory and has given you His authority, so go forward in that authority, aware of the devil's strategies, destroying his works and claiming new ground for the Kingdom of God!
 
"For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don't belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded." 1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 (NLT)
