Growth, it is a natural part of life. Everything living must grow, and once it stops growing it starts dying. With our physical bodies we reach a state of maturity where our bodies stop growing stronger and begin to weaken. But, spiritually this does not have to be the case. We can continue to grow spiritually until the day we leave this planet, and we should indeed do so! We should continue to grow closer to our Lord. We should strive always to be more like Jesus. Charles Spurgeon once said, "Aspire to be something more than the mass of church members. Lift up your cry to God and beseech him to fire you with nobler ambition than that which possesses the common Christian-that you may be found faithful unto God at the least, and may win many crowns for your Lord and Master, Christ." As a New Year begins I pray that you will strive to be more like Christ! That you will seek to shine your light before men like never before! I pray that you will not be satisfied with the same-old-same, but that you will strive for excellence! Seek to be more like Christ! Desire more of the Lord and you will obtain more of the Lord!
