The Right Focus
 
"So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLT)
 
None of us are immune to heartache and suffering. All of God's children face difficult times, just like those who live separated from God because of their sins. But, unlike the rest of the world we have the promise of a better tomorrow! We have a Hope that those who are outside of the family of God do not share. We have Jesus! And, if we will ever keep our eyes fixed on Him we will be able to walk through the deepest of valleys and come out on the otherwise victorious!
 
We must learn to look through the eyes of faith at our circumstances; we must have the right focus! I love what A.B. Simpson said, concerning how we view our struggles, he said, "We must learn to live on the heavenly side and look at things from above. To contemplate all things as God sees them, as Christ beholds them, overcomes sin, defies Satan, dissolves perplexities, lifts us above trials, separates us from the world and conquers fear of death." Keep the right focus as you face the trials and tribulations of life; learn to see through eyes of faith, as Jesus does, and those trial and tribulations will become stepping stones to victory, instead of stumbling stones to defeat, in your journey of life!
