A Voice For Righteousness
 
"If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death, I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek." Leviticus 20:4-5 (NIV)
 
Molek was a pagan god that the Canaanites would sacrifice their children to. This demonic god was portrayed as a statue with its arms out stretched, with a fire burning inside. Or, it may also have been portrayed a statue with a hollowed out stomach with a fire burning inside where the parents would lay their children. This was a great evil in God's eyes, and it was one of the reasons He was taking them out of the Land and giving it to Israel. God was very adamant that His people, under no circumstances, would practice this great evil! And, if someone did, the people who witnessed it were to speak up! They were forbidden from turning a blind eye!
 
Too often Christens turn a blind eye to evil and injustice. We are called to speak up! To be a voice for righteousness! We cannot turn our back on evil, and pretend it doesn't exist! As representatives of Jesus Christ we must shine the Light we have been entrusted with on the evil of this world! We must expose it for what it is! Let God's Children raise their voices when they see the injustices of this world! Let them expose sin and evil for what it is! Let them shine their Light bringing hope, justice, and righteousness to a lost and fallen world!
