"On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all." Luke 13:10-11 (NIV)
 
We are continually presented with opportunities to do good! In our passage of Scripture Jesus is presented with an occasion to do something good, something to bring glory to God, something to destroy the treachery the devil had put forth when He see a crippled woman who had been bound by the devil for eighteen years. Jesus naturally makes the most of the opportunity and heals the woman, but that was Jesus, doing good came natural to Him. Doing good should likewise come natural to us! For we are the representatives of Jesus upon this earth! We should capitalize on every opportunity we have to shine as lights in this world, helping those in need, praying for the sick, offering encouragement to those who are discouraged, and destroying every work the devil has laid his treacherous hand to! Augustine said, "What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like." Let us love this world like our Lord! Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus daily! Let us make the most of every opportunity to shine as a light for Jesus Christ in this world! Take the opportunity to do something good today; indeed create an opportunity to do something good! And, in so doing you will bring glory to your Lord and Savior, you will testify to the reality of His presence on this earth today and His love for its people!
