Jesus had great plans for Simon and his friends. They were going to continue to fish, but from now on they would be fishing for men! These men would dedicate their lives to fishing for those who were held captive by the power of sin and death. They would spend their lives seeking to save those who were lost! They would follow the example of their Master!
 
Today Jesus is calling you and me also to be fishers of men! He is calling us to lay down our wants and desires, so that we may embrace His...To see all of mankind redeemed! You may have great plans for your life, but Jesus has even greater ones! You may have ideas of a better tomorrow, but Jesus has ideas of a greater tomorrow for you! You may dream of a life were you experience countless success, Jesus wants to give you a life of eternal significance! Trade your life, as the first disciples did, for the one our Lord has prepared for you! Be a fisher of men! Embrace the call of God on your life! You were indeed called to great things! Eternal things! Things of eternal significance! Don't trade those eternal things for cheap worldly memorabilia! Step forward and lead the charge of the Great Commission Jesus has given to His Church! Spend your life destroying the works of the devil, rescuing those who are held captive behind enemy lines!
