The Kingdom Of God
 
"Nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the Kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21 (NKJ)
 
Many people in the time of Jesus looked for a great conqueror from God to come and defeat the Roman Empire, and set up a grand kingdom for the nation of Israel. How confusing it must have been when Jesus told them "The Kingdom of God is within you." They were not to look for the Kingdom of God in some distant time or remote place. The Kingdom of God was right there in the mist of them!
 
The Kingdom of God lives inside of every born again believer. It is not a far off country that we will one day travel too. No, the Kingdom is here and now, living inside of God's children! Because the Kingdom is inside us we carry the authority and power of Christ everywhere we go! Everywhere we step we are to bring the reality of the Kingdom, for it lives inside us in the form of the Holy Spirit. We carry the power of God, to transform the world around us, everywhere we go! Hudson Taylor, a 19th century missionary to China, said, "Many Christians estimate difficulty in the light of their own resources, and thus they attempt very little and they always fail. All giants have been weak men who did great things for God because they reckoned on His power and presence to be with them." Live this day and every day in the power and authority of Christ, whom you represent on this earth! We are ambassadors of Christ, or King, and as such we have the resources of the Kingdom at our disposal that we may represent our King in the fullness of His power and authority!
