The first disciples of Jesus were not men of renown. They had no great formal education. They were average ordinary guys. It would not be a far stretch to say they were at the most "rough around the collar". They were not the kind of men you would pick to lead a revolution from an old system of religious tyranny. But, they were exactly the kind of men Jesus was looking for! Average and ordinary, men He could be glorified through; men who would indeed confound the wisdom of the religious teachers and leaders of their day.
 
Jesus is still looking for average-ordinary people! People who will step out in faith answering the call God has placed on their lives! God stands ready to spread His glory through the most humble of persons today, regardless of education or worldly stature. God wants to shine His glory through you! He wants to put you in a position to confound conventional worldly thinking! He wants to give you wisdom and strength to spread the Gospel message throughout the entire world! Let Him!! Let God raise you up to be a great voice for Him in this world! Allow Him to move you into a position to lead the charge in fulfilling the Great Commission! God sees and knows your potential because He put it in you! Allow Him to bring that potential out of you, so that you may advance the Kingdom and bring glory to His name!
