A Powerful Message
 
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NKJ)
 
The message of the cross is God's love story for mankind. It tells of how Jesus, who was God in the flesh, died on a cross for our sins, because God loved the world with a love that the natural mind of man could never understand. It also tells of how after being in the grave for three days Jesus rose victorious over sin and death. When this message is told to men and women around the world and they embrace it, they receive the Spirit of Christ, which brings them eternal salvation. But, they must be told! For if they are never told about the message of the cross they will never have the opportunity to embrace it!
 
We, the Church of Jesus Christ, have been commissioned by our King to take this message to the world! Yes, there will be those who rejected the message, considering it foolishness, but it is not our responsibility to make them embrace it. Our responsibility is to take the message to them! Charles Spurgeon said, "If there be any one point in which the Christian church ought to keep its fervor at a white heat, it is concerning missions. If there be anything about which we cannot tolerate lukewarmness, it is in the matter of sending the gospel to a dying world." Every child of God holds both the privilege and responsibility of taking the message of the cross to those who have yet to embrace it! Be bold in taking the message of the cross, which has saved you, to the world around you! Share God's love story with everyone you know, and never forget this message holds God's power to save the world!
 
"But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? That's why Scripture exclaims, A sight to take your breath away! Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God! But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: 'Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?' The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ's Word is preached, there's nothing to listen to." Romans 10:14-17 (MSG)
