Accepting Each Other
 
"Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory." Romans 15:7 (NLT)
 
As Paul writes this letter to the church in Rome, there is division between Jewish and Gentile believers. Many Jews still ascribed too much of the Law of Moses, while most Gentile believers were barley aware of the Law. Paul relays to the church how God wants all His children to come together and praise Him. God did not then, nor does He now, want His family divided. Regardless of race or personal convictions, God wants all His followers to be united.
 
When Paul writes this letter believers are separated into two categories, or labels as it may be, Jews and Gentiles, which made it difficult for some believers to join together as brothers and sisters in the Faith. Today we find there are many labels: Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Lutheran, to name just a few. But, God's truth remains today, so in the mist of all these labels we place on ourselves, God still wants His children united, offering up a sacrifice of praise to Him. Regardless of the religious label we have placed on ourselves we must learn to love one another, in word and deed, as Christ loves all of His followers. Make a choice to break down the religious barriers we have created, and join with your brothers and sisters in Christ, as we spread His glory throughout the world!
