Gift Of God
 
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 (NLT)
 
Wages are something that is earned, something deserved. A gift on the other hand is something you have not earned, nor is it something you deserve. Death was something we earned when we lived a life of sin, but by God's grace those wages were not passed on to us, but to Christ; He got what we earned! God's gift to us is a life freely justified by Christ; that means we get what He earned! Through Jesus we have received eternal life in the world to come, and life more abundant here right now! We have been freely blessed apart from anything we've done! All the blessings of Abraham have freely passed to us through Christ! As a gift, through Jesus, God blesses us, and makes our name great! He blesses those who bless us, and curses those who curse us! And, God is ready to work through us to bless all the nations of the world! Martin Luther once said, "Night and day I pondered until I saw the connection between the justice of God and the statement that 'the just shall live by his faith.' Then I grasped that the justice of God is that righteousness by which through grace and sheer mercy God justifies us through faith. Thereupon I felt myself to be reborn and to have gone through open doors into paradise." All the blessings of Heaven's Storehouse have been opened up to you, receive them freely and be blessed!!
