The Bible teaches us that when we surrender our lives to Jesus He gives us a new heart and a new spirit, plus He puts His Spirit inside us. When this happens to a person they are truly born again. And, with this rebirth comes new desires and wants. The things of the past begin to grow dim, and the things of our Lord begin to take prominence in our lives. Still, because we are trapped in bodies of unredeemed flesh we are going to continue to miss the mark from time to time; we will never be perfect until we are reunited with Jesus. But, because we have been freed from the Law, when we do miss the mark, and commit an act of sin, it is not counted against us, for we are no longer under the Law, but under Grace! The Law brings condemnation, but Grace brings life!
 
We should always strive to be more and more like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but we shouldn't beat ourselves up when we fail! We must realize that God is not counting our mistakes and adding them up, He keeps no record of our wrongs, and neither should we! Nor is God blessing us on a scale of how "good" we have been, no, He is blessing us because of Jesus! If we will learn to depend and lean on the finished work of Jesus Christ for our righteousness the enemy will not be able to steal our blessings. Know today that you're Christ justified, and as such every blessing you receive is dependent on His works, not yours! Look to Jesus in faith, and by faith you will receive all the goodness of God!
