A Child
 
"But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12 (NLT)
 
Children are a gift from God, and as parents we are to cherish and love them. We provide for them and protect them. When they need something we get it for them. We also give them many gifts that have nothing to do with their needs. When Christmas and their birthdays come around we hold parties for them, and other people bring them gifts. We do all of this for our children, and more, not based off of what they have done, but who they are and who we are! They are our children and we are their parents, and whether they've done something to deserve our love and kindness has nothing to do with it. We take care of them and love them based solely on our relationship with them.
 
The Bible teaches us that even when we were separated from God He loved us enough to die for us; how much more now will He show His love for us that we are His children? Our Father in Heaven is ready to shower us with good things, to fight for us, to provide for our every need, and even our heart's desires, simply because of who we are and who He is. He is our loving Father! He is not out to hurt us, but to bless us! His blessings and goodness in our lives is not dependent on how good or bad we are, but ONLY on our relationship with Him! Stop trying to earn your Father's affection; He loves you regardless of your works and deeds! Your Father is loving, patient, kind, and merciful, so look for Him to respond to you in this way. Not as a vengeful and angry God, for you are His child! Believe your Father for the very best! He loves you regardless of what you've done, or failed to do. He is your Father, and He will always love you, both in word and deed! Receive your Father's goodness!!
