Shooting For The Moon 
  
"When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, 'Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.' And Elisha replied, 'Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.' 'You have asked a difficult thing,' Elijah replied. 'If you see me when I am taken from you, then you will get your request. But if not, then you won't.'"
2 Kings 2:9-10 (NLT)
 
Elijah was a mighty and powerful prophet of God, to hope to have the same portion of God's Spirit might have seemed a stretch too many, but not to Elisha. In fact, Elisha decides he wants a double portion of what Elijah has. Elisha wasn't holding back, he had big desires, and he went after them! Elisha shot for the moon! Elisha didn't hold back a bit; he made his request known. And, the Lord gave him what he asked.
 
We should never be afraid to dream BIG! Or, to ask the Lord for the desires of our heart! Especially when we recognize those desires were birthed from God's will! God has put greatness in us all, so we should never settle for mediocrity! We should believe God for the best! Jesus said, "Anything is possible if a person believes." What are you believing God for today? Are you afraid or hesitant to ask God for the longing of your heart? Are your dreams bigger than you? If the answer is "yes" you've got a God sized dream, and it will need the power of God to become a reality! Don't be afraid to ask and seek God for it! Nothing is too hard for our God, and through Him there is nothing we cannot accomplish! Dream BIG! Don't be afraid to shoot for the moon, if you miss it you may very well land on a star!
