Our Helper 
  
"But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?'" 2 Kings 1:3 (NKJ)
 
King Ahaziah of Israel had fallen and hurt himself, so he sends one of his servants to ask Baal-Zebub, the god so Ekron, if he will recover. Ahaziah was the king of Israel and should have been looking to the Lord for guidance and healing, but his love and affection that was due the Lord, he gave away to false god's; like many of the kings of Israel that had preceded him. God wanted to lead Israel and her king into a multitude of blessings and peace, but they turned their backs on the Lord, the One true God.
 
The child of God doesn't have to search far for help, for their Helper is always with them. Our God lives in us in the form of the Holy Spirit, and desires to help us in all of lives circumstances, both good and bad. Jesus said the Holy Spirit was coming to guide us and to comfort us. God doesn't want us turning to the world when we have a problem, He wants us to turn to Him, and allow Him to provide or lead us in the right path we need to take. G. Campbell Morgan said, "To the individual believer indwelt by the Holy Spirit there is granted the direct impression of the Spirit of God on the spirit of man, imparting the knowledge of His will in matters of the smallest and greatest importance. This has to be sought and waited for." The Holy Spirit is there to help and direct us. Let us always look to Him and wait on Him, in expecting faith, and He will lead us into paths of blessings and peace!
 
"But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me." John 15:26 (NKJ)
