No Back-Up Plan 
  
"So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant." 1 Kings 19:21 (NLT)
 
Elisha would become a mighty and powerful prophet of the Lord, but for that to become a reality He would have to make some tough choices. When Elisha is called he is out working his fields with his servants, but immediately he runs after Elijah; he responded to God's call without hesitation. He takes all his oxen and slaughters them, and uses the wood from the plows to make a fire. He cooks the oxen and gives the meat away, and takes off with Elijah to pursue his God given call. Elisha left nothing behind! There was no back-up plan in-case things didn't work out; he had totally bought in to God's plan for his life!
 
When God calls it is often at the most inopportune times. Elisha had responsibilities, he had work to do, and was indeed in the middle of doing that work. But, when God calls, we would be wise to respond! Whether we're on the job, on vacation, working around the house, or just taking our leisure, if we want to live in the fullness of God's plan for our lives we must respond just as Elisha did! We must go after God with all that we are! Even though God's plan for our lives is going to be different than the one we've made, we must say, "YES"! God has prepared great things for us all to do, and He will lead us into those things, but we must follow wholeheartedly! We can't hold back and develop a back-up plan just in case God's plan doesn't work out. Say "YES" to God when He calls! Hold nothing back! Go after God with all that you are, and you'll receive all that He has for you!
