Walking By Faith

"And Elijah said to her, 'Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son.'"
1 Kings 17:13 (NKJ)

God send Elijah to a widow lady who has lost all hope. She was gathering wood to make a fire so she could prepare the last meal for her and her son before they die. The famine, caused by the drought, had been so severe in Israel that there was no food to be found for this widow and her son. But, just when she thought she had reached the end of her rope, and all hope was lost, she meets the man of God. Elijah challenges the widow to make a cake first for him, and then for herself and her son; a seemingly unreasonable request. But, the widow does as Elijah asks, and is blessed beyond her wildest imagination! She honors God first by feeding His prophet, and when she does she opens the door to receive supernaturally from the Lord. Because she put the Lord first, trusting in Him and His Word over her natural circumstances, her flour and oil were supernaturally supplied by God and never ran out until after the famine was over.

As we walk by faith, not allowing our natural circumstances to dictate what we do and how we live, but God's Word alone, we will see the supernatural provision of God become obvious in our lives. Too often the children of God are robbed of our Heavenly Father's provision by acting on what we see; we allow our circumstances to steal our blessings. But, if we will only fix our eyes on Heaven and allow the faith of our Lord to overcome us, so that we may trust and act on His Word, we will be blessed in every way! Walk in faith! Refuse to allow the circumstance of life to dictate your actions, instead, move in faith, acting on the infallible Word of God! And, you will be blessed!!

"For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance." 2 Corinthians 5:7 (AMP)
