Bad Influences 

  

"My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!" Proverbs 1:10 (NLT)

 

We would be wise to be cautious who we allow to influence our lives. If we allow those who are living in sin or living in their own lustful pursuits to entice us, and lure us into following them down the path they have chosen, we will be setting ourselves up for heartbreak and suffering. God has laid out for us paths of blessing and prosperity for His name sake, but the enemy is always ready to use whoever or whatever he can to draw us away from that path. Stay alert!! The Apostle Paul told the church in Corinth to follow him, for he was following after Jesus. Now that's good advice!! If you're going to allow someone to influence your life make sure it's someone who's following after Jesus! F. B. Meyer said, "Sin is the act of the will, and is only possible when the will assents to some unholy influence." God has prepared an abundant life for us, but the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy all aspects of that life. And, if he can somehow influence you to latch on to sin, he can do exactly that! Be careful who your friends are! Be cautious of the thing you allow your eyes to gaze upon! Be aware of those things, and people, in your life that could influence you in a negative way! Surround yourself with godly and positive people! People who will build you up and strengthen you! People who will help you to walk the path of abundant life God has prepared for you!
