"But Eleazar stood his ground and struck down the Philistines till his hand grew tired and froze to the sword. The Lord brought about a great victory that day. The troops returned to Eleazar, but only to strip the dead." 2 Samuel 23:10 (NIV)

The Bible describes three might men of war who served King David. One of these men was named Eleazar. In the midst of a great battle between Israel and the Philistines, the men that Eleazar led into battle fled in fear for their lives. But, Eleazar stood his ground and would not be moved, even though everyone else ran away, he was willing to stand his ground, and die if need be; battling for what he believed was right. Eleazar fought when no one else was willing, and God honored his faith and courage, bringing him a great victory!

Eleazar was a great warrior, full of faith and courage, willing to lay his life down for what God had given to Israel. Do you have a cause in your life that's worth dying for? When others turn and run from the truth of God's Word will you stand firm and fight the fight of faith? Is your faith strong enough to endure when times of testing come? Will you be faithful until the end? Will you use your strength, time, resources, and talents to further God's Kingdom? What do you stand for? What in your life is worth dying for? As God's children we are also soldiers in His army, called to lay our lives down for the cause of Christ! We are called to advance the Kingdom of God, destroying the works of the devil! Be strong and courageous! When others turn their back of God's Word, stand your ground! When others refuse to fight for the lost souls of mankind, choose to stay in the battle! Jesus found something worth dying for when He laid His life down for us; we should be willing to do the same for Him!
