David understood that Goliath wasn't defying man when he shouted out his threats towards Israel, but he was defying God.   When David goes out to meet Goliath on the field of battle, he is not going representing King Saul, as most of Israel probably thought, but he is going as a representative of the God of Israel, whom Goliath had defied. David comes to him in the name of the Lord, which means he comes to meet Goliath with all the backing of Heaven! Goliath didn't stand a chance!

As children of God, on a mission for our Lord to redeem mankind, we represent Him as we go forth on our mission. We go out in the name of the Lord! We must never forget, when the devil does evil, whether directed at us or the world that Jesus died for, he is attempting to defy our God. And, when we step out to meet the enemy, challenging his defiance, we are going in the name of our Lord who has sent us! We go out in the power of Heaven to fight against the devil! If we can grasp this fact the devil won't stand a chance! We represent God! We are indeed His ambassadors, with His authority and power to go out redeeming mankind back to Him, and destroying ALL the works of the devil! We cannot be stopped when we go out in the name of the Lord! Alone we are nothing, but with God no man or demon can stop us! Go forward today and every day in the name of the Lord, to do the work of the Lord here upon this earth! And know when you go out in the name of the Lord, you go out with the full backing of Heaven; all the authority and power of Christ! So, you cannot help but be victorious!
