"Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he became very angry."  

1 Samuel 11:6 (NLT)

The Ammonites had besieged Jabesh Gilead, and agreed to make a treaty with them if they were allowed to put out the right eye of every man in the city. When word of this reaches Saul the Bible says the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him and he became very angry. Saul felt the same anger God had through the Holy Spirit. This anger moved Saul to go out and fight for the people of the city, delivering them from destruction.

Through the Holy Spirit we can experience God's emotions towards the things of this world, and particularly how He feels about those who are perishing because of the wages of sin. The devil has besieged the lost souls of this earth, and threatens to destroy them. God Spirit should move us, just as it did Saul, to take action! To go out and fight for those perishing without Jesus! We should feel the same love for the lost as Jesus did when He died for them! We must be people of action! Not simply feeling sorry for the lost and suffering of this world, we must do something! We are the reality of God upon this earth, for His Spirit lives within every born again believer! The only hope the lost and suffering of this world has is the children of God, who are also the army of God! Refuse to sit by and watch as an innumerable amount people enter eternity without any hope! Refuse to turn a blind eye to the suffering of this world, to the children starving to death and the ones being sold into slavery! We have been given the resources of Heaven to change this world for our King, to bring both spiritual and physical deliverance! Allow God's love for the lost, and his anger over sin and death, to move you to action! Be part of the change this world so desperately needs! May the Spirit of God stir your heart today, moving you to take action, to go out and destroy the works of the devil, bringing deliverance and healing to this world through Jesus Christ!
