"So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders." Acts 14:3 (NIV)

As Paul and Barnabas proclaimed the Gospel message the Lord did great wonders and miracles through them. The great signs testified to all the people, that the message Paul and Barnabas spoke was different from others they may have heard in the past. Paul and Barnabas were ambassadors of Christ, with the authority and power of the One they represented, to do His work.

Too often when we share the Gospel message with the lost of this world, or words have no evidence to prove they are true. We're like broken vacuum cleaner salesmen, trying to sell a product that we can't demonstrate. In the Apostles Paul's letter to the church in Corinth he reminds them that when he preached the Gospel to them it was not done with enticing words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power! Jesus has given us His power and authority to represent Him upon this earth! We're selling a product that works! We should not be afraid to demonstrate the power of the Gospel as we share it with the world! God has enabled us to work great signs and wonders; so that people know the God we speak of is the REAL-DEAL! John Stott said, "His authority on earth allows us to dare to go to all the nations. His authority in heaven gives us our only hope of success. And His presence with us leaves us no other choice." Don't be afraid of the authority and power God has given you to finish His work upon this earth! Go forth in the boldness of the Holy Spirit, realizing you, like Paul and Barnabas, are an ambassador of Christ to this world!
