Victory 

 

"I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me. You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies; you disgrace those who hate us." Psalm 44:6-7 (NLT)

 

We live in a culture that highly admires strength and self-achievement. We are taught and encouraged to be self-reliant, and to but faith in our own abilities. But, the Bible teaches something very different. The Bible teaches us to put no faith in our own abilities; instead we are to put all of our faith and trust in the Lord. Instead of relying on our own strength we are to rely on God's strength. Psalmist, although equipped with a bow and sword knows his deliverance will come only from the Lord. Let us be a wise as the psalmist and put our faith in the Lord! Let us rely on Him to fight our battles for us! Yes, we may be fully equipped to fight any battle that comes our way, but true and lasting victory will only be found in allowing the Lord to fight for us! If you find yourself in a battle today, rely on the Lord, and allow Him to fight for you! Andrew Murray once said, "When we pray for the Spirit's help ... we will simply fall down at the Lord's feet in our weakness. There we will find the victory and power that comes from His love." Trust in the power of His might, and you will live victorious no matter what comes your way!
