As Israel got ready to enter the Promised Land, God wanted to make sure the poor would be provided for. God wanted the Israelites to love and take care of one another; He didn't want the people to take advantage of their poor brothers and sisters. And, though God made provision for the poor, He also assures them that no one needs to be poor. God was bringing them into a land where He was going to richly bless them! There would always be poor with them, but there didn't have to be!

Smith Wigglesworth, speaking of God's Word, said, "This blessed Book brings such life and health and peace, and such an abundance that we should never be poor any more." The Bible is a testament to Jesus Christ all the way through. And, when we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ, God moves us into a land that is richly blessed! The Gospel is ALL inclusive, delivering us from sin, sickness, and POVERTY! Yes, we will always have poor brothers and sister in Christ, and we would do well to remember them and make provision for them. HOWEVER, there need be no poor among us! God has moved us into a land of abundance, and is ready to richly bless us! When God's children are richly blessed they can be a great blessing! It's difficult to be a blessing and to give for the furtherance of the Gospel if you're always in need. Expect God to RICHLY BLESS you, and when He does be a great blessing! Never be fearful of, or feel guilty, for the RICH BLESSINGS that come through Jesus! Accept them with a humble heart, and use them for the glory of God!
